I can reveal that the site in question, just as Heather’s last challenge, is in a country that has not previously featured on WOGE.
Hey Troels! What kind of metadata have you been getting for the game? Any idea how many people are playing?
Hi Shawn – Well, Google Analytics suggest that there’s about 50 visitors more per day than usual when I’m hosting WOGE. However, that number must be significantly lower when sites are identified very quickly. Around 50% of the additional traffic comes via FB.
I think we need a clue…
Indeed we do…
OK – another clue: the site is connected to an ancient water festival….
The feature is the birketein pool north of Jerash. I’m not sure about its construction, but according to about 15 minutes of Google searches, it seems associated with the Maiumas water festival during the reign of Justinian (527-565),
Paul has the correct answer! You’ll be the host of WOGE 70. Date of construction of the Birketain complex: 2nd or 3rd century CE.
Yippee! I’m looking for a good site to post, and trying my hardest to avoid the Middle East, but that’s where my eyes keep on being drawn. I’ll post the link to WOGE 70 ASAP.
Sorry for the delay, but WOGE is now up on my blog (http://www.lugal.com/blog/?p=126).
