Adventures on the Peloponnese

The best archaeological sites are often the ones that are the least known or somewhat adventurous to get to. Such a site is Platiana, its ancient name is debated but could be Typaneai or Aipy. It is located in the landscape of Elis on the western Peloponnese. We reached it after driving on a landslide-stricken road and hiking for a fair bit. The beautiful views and the incredible site more than made up for the effort though.
