When I visited the Getty Museum in September 2001, the Getty Villa in Malibu was closed for restoration. It has recently re-opened, and the Stoa Gallery has a nice series of photos of the beautiful building that was constructed as a replica of the famous Villa of the Papyri outside Herculaneum. I hope to visit sometime in the near future.

Troels, jeg har vaeret inde og kigge paa billederne. Jeg faar bestemt ogsaa lyst til at besoege Getty, men et eller andet sted er der altsaa noget falsk Las Vegas agtigt over den villa.

Ja, det kan du have ret i. Sådan er det jo faktisk ofte med denne type af rekonstruktioner. Men der er vel ingen af os, der har noget imod Las Vegas!
